A music brief is the starting point for a conversation. Whether you need a song for an artist release, music for a scene, or sound for a campaign, a few specific details help us understand the project.
Start with the story
Tell us what you’re making and what the audience should feel. A quiet moment of anticipation calls for a different musical approach than a fast product reveal. Describe the scene, the message, or the identity you want the music to express.
Describe the musical direction
References are useful when you explain what you like about them. It might be the energy, instrumentation, pace, vocal character, or sense of space. We use that direction to discuss an original approach for your project.
Include the practical details
• Intended use: film, television, advertising, an artist release, social content, or another format.
• Duration: the length of the piece and any shorter versions you expect to need.
• Placement: where the music will appear and whether it needs to sit underneath dialogue or a voiceover.
• Timeline: your target delivery date and any earlier review milestones.
• Scope: whether you want to discuss existing material, a custom production, or a collaboration.
• Budget: a range, when available, to help shape the conversation.
Bring the idea you have
You do not need a finished treatment to make an inquiry. A short explanation of the project, a sense of its direction, and a timeline are enough to begin discussing the right next step.
